The FCA Foundation’s mission is to enhance recreational and competitive sailing, power boating and cruising, in the finest traditions of yachting, through education, charitable and financial opportunities.
The FCA Foundation provides financial support to individuals, groups, and organizations in the State of Florida, who are involved in approved maritime activities focused on regional, national and international competition and related events.

About John Matthews
P/C John Matthews is a Charter Member of the Florida Commodores Association (FCA). He served on their Board of Directors as Treasurer and Commodore. John is also a Past Commodore of the Pensacola Yacht Club, the Gulf Yachting Association and Navy Yacht Club Pensacola. He currently serves as a member of their Board of Directors
P/C Matthews is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and Vietnam Veteran with service in the 101st Airborne Division. His postings included Washington, D.C, West Point, N.Y. Pennsylvania and Europe. Upon retirement, John held technical management positions with major corporations, as well as being the founding President of Plasma Energy Applied Technology, Inc. P/C. Matthews resides in Pensacola, FL.

About Jack Kennedy
P/C Kennedy has served many boat and yachting clubs in various positions, most recently as Commodore of the Bay Point Yacht Club. He also served as Commodore of the Chattanooga Boat Club, Commodore of the Lakeshore Yacht Club Chattanooga, and Vice Commodore of the Chattanooga Yacht Club. He was President of District 8 Florida of the International Order of the Blue Gavel (IOBG), Director of Florida District 8 of the IOBG and is a founding member of the Florida Commodores Association.
